About This Website

This is a small, independent, noncommercial website created to help keep the Sanghata Sutra freely available to those who wish to encounter, read, or recite it.

Its purpose is simple: to offer the sutra a quiet and enduring home online.

Keeping a Doorway Open

I first encountered the Sanghata Sutra through a website dedicated to sharing the text and introducing it to readers.

That encounter remained with me. Years later, the website through which I found the sutra was no longer available in the way it once had been. It made me realize how easily a meaningful doorway can disappear—and how valuable it can be when someone quietly keeps another one open.

I created this website in the hope that others may also discover the Sanghata Sutra when the time is right for them.

What This Website Offers

Here you can read or download the complete English translation of the Sanghata Sutra in its original PDF form.

You can also find an introduction to the benefits described within the sutra, with page references that allow readers to return directly to the source.

The website is intentionally simple. It does not ask visitors to register, subscribe, or purchase anything. The sutra is offered freely for reading and recitation.

Respecting the Original Text

The English translation presented here was prepared from the Tibetan by Venerable Damchö Diana Finnegan (Lhundup Damchö).

The original PDF is shared unchanged, with its translator’s colophon, attribution, and copyright notice intact. According to the terms included in the document, the text may be copied and distributed freely, but may not be modified or sold.

Explanatory writing elsewhere on this website is kept separate from the translated text.

An Independent Offering

This website is an independent project. It is not an official publication of the translator, the original Sanghata Sutra website, a monastery, or a Buddhist organization.

Its intention is modest: to preserve access to the original, unchanged PDF, acknowledge those who brought the translation into English, and help new readers find their way to the sutra.

A Project of The Quiet Loft

This website is offered through The Quiet Loft, a creative space devoted to poetry, reflection, and quiet beauty for the inner life.

The Sanghata Sutra project grows from the same wish: to create a place where attention can settle, meaningful words can be encountered, and something valuable can remain available for those who may one day need to find it.

May This Resource Be of Benefit

May this website help keep a doorway to the Sanghata Sutra open.

May all who encounter the sutra find the conditions for peace, virtue, wisdom, and awakening.
